    Older GS's tubeless ?

Anyone ever run tubeless tires on the older GS bikes ? My 1981 GS750EX has a tube . Was just wondering if tubeless will work on these older bikes . Thanks.

Look at the wheel. Many are marked "Tubeless Tire Applicable", some are not.

That marking will guarantee compatability, but some have run tubless tires on non-marked wheels with success.

Depending on the bike model, Suzuki started marking the wheels in the '80 model year or so, starting with the larger bikes. They also mixed it up a bit, with one wheel marked and the other one not. I think that by the '82 model year, pretty much all wheels were marked for tubeless use.

I'm running my 81 GS850 tubeless on both ends, no problem.

Do some searching in the Tires and Suspension forum, there are lots of threads about this. Short answer is yes, many have done it successfully.

My 82 1100E has the rear marked tubeless with the front unmarked. It runs fine with tubeless on both ends.

I ran my gs750ex tubles but you have to make sure the lip of the rim is clean and generally free of corosion. A brass wire wheel and then some silicon spray did the trick.
