I have a 79 gs1000 that needs a donor bike. I have found a decent shape 79 gs750 for short money. Basically i want the donor bike for the carbs which i have found should be the same 26mm vms, what I wondering though is if the seat, calipers, and other misc parts are the same. Any input would be appreciated because I NEED the carbs but getting all the other little things would have me on the road in a day.

The carbs will fit, but the jetting is different. The calipers should work also, but the seat and body work wont. I don't know what misc parts you're talking about. You may need more than just carbs. Valve clearances, points...... -
The carbs were my main concern as one of mine is NG. everything else would have just been extra. Maybe I will just part the rest out.Comment
