Got new front/rear sprockets and chain. this wheel is so gunked up and gross. how do i remove the old sprocket? with these clips on it. Thanks! Also, does the axel come out easy? mine seems to show no love.

Dynamite for the win! or lacking dynamite flatten the tab down with a cold chisel and a hammer.

Simple green is good for just about any crud on your bike. I like the concentrated stuff. Let soak a bit then attack with a stiff brush.

Be careful back there. Solvents can get in and have a go at the bearing grease.

flip the thing so the bolts drop back out
reattach the sprocket and pull it out of the cush drive. If its old it me be a struggle

That axle should just slide out, but sometimes they get stuck. Try tapping on it, put the axle nut back on backwards so the castle faces into the wheel, and tap on that. This way you do not damage the threads. If it fights all the way out, you may want to make sure it is not bent. Roll it on a flat surface and check for wobble, like people do with a pool cue on a billiard table.

awesome. and the part that attaches to the brake caliper, that's "supposed" to slide off as well? it's not. axle spins great, but doesnt have lateral movement
