    Intake boot question? 82 GS1100

So I took the off to replace the o-rings, kept them separated between the left/right sides but I noticed they are not quite level. I assume the short side goes towards the top but thought I would check just in case.
    Thanks!

If you test fit it's pretty obvious when you either put the carbs up there or maybe easier to put a block of wood against them. The wood should lay flat across all of them, if it doesn't they are the wrong way round.

it would be my guess that the shorter side goes down to accommodate the forward slant of the cylinder block to keep the carb bodies level. seems that way on my bikes.

Other thing is: they have a L or an R on them (stock ones anyway), and that goes toward the top (I think).
