    78' GS750ec Handlebar and accessories.

I can't find anywhere to buy new handlebars and the OEM's I assume on the bike have pitted rust and I'm trying to restore this bike.

Does anyone know how to take the hand grips and accessories off the handlebars? I don't want to create more work by doing it wrong. The items that screw off like the kill switch and turn signal switches.

I want to clean the handle bars. Is there anything I can spray on the pitted rust to prevent it from regrowing as I have this condition on the inner forks as well.

Lastly, the current stock (I believe) don't have the steel grip grooves I'm use to seeing on bicycle handlebars.

To remove items from handlebars on this bike, loosen the screws on both the left and right switches. Don't try to remove them yet. Next, unbolt and remove the clutch/LH mirror bolts and the RH Master Cylinder/mirror handle. Lastly, loosen and remove the bolts holding the handlebar in place, then slip both sides free of the switches.
