Did it leak too? My GS1000 developed a bunch of leaks when using synthetic. No issues running conventional dino juice though.

No it never leaked....but weird eh? I think the old girl is more of a Budweiser girl than a Heineken girl...lol

Have you ever taken the Cooley on a long trip like that on Rotella? 1000 miles of mostly highway vs mixed driving could be a factor.

I found this in the closet of a greasy spoon I worked in in 1979. It was in exactly this condition. Just now, I panicked when it wasn't where I first looked. It's weird, but I treasure it.

Many times....I have put almost 20,000 miles on it in 4 years. I have rode it to California on Rotella and no issues.

I realized yesterday, that Sam's club sells Rotella 15W-40 in bulk. I'm there at least once a month anyway. If I want to switch from using 10W-40 Motorcycle JASO MA2 oil to Rotella, besides a new filter, and draining as much of the old oil as possible, is there anything else special I need to to before putting in the Rotella?

You don't have to do anything special. Just change the oil as normal. Mixing oils is no worry either.

Now we're talking. The basic approach is to wince or feign a heart attack whenever cost is mentioned and when your wallet comes out look hard at it as if you are seriously reconsidering the whole idea of spending money.
You're not fooling anyone but it's expected to blend in with the other customers.

Did you mean T6 15w40? I just want to make sure I'm not missing something or if that was just a typo. I usually get the full synthetic T6 15w40 when I have the extra couple bucks.

No, I run the 5W40 all year round in my truck (GMC Duramax 2500) and bikes. I live in western Canada and it never gets hot here like it does in the southern US; 5W40 is better for the cold starts in spring and fall. If I lived somewhere that actually got hot I would probably run the 15W40 in summer instead.
