    Keys for Vetter Luggage???

I bought a set of Vetter luggage with mounting hardware for $3.71 at an estate auction. It's actually in pretty good shape. But there are no keys.

I could drill out the latches and replace them but the locks that hold the side bags on are something different.

Anyone know where I can get keys that might fit?

    Ask on vetterowners.com
I don't think they're anything special, akin to office filing cabinet locks and barrels.

Now that has to be a hopping forum. I'll check it out.

So I looked at the vetter owners site. Seems they tried to put together a stash of basic keys but the blanks were hard to find. So I looked more closely at the locks that hold the bags on. They're actually really easy to bypass. So if someone wanted to steal my luggage all they'd need would be a short Phillips screwdriver and a pocket knife.

The bags I bought though are nicer than my old ones so as usual I will count on the fact that nobody would want to steal my old junk.

I found some cabinet locks that look like they'll work as replacements for all the closures.

Will they also work for the locks that hold the saddlebags onto the racks ?

I think so. There's a little rectangle shaped piece of metal that screws on the part of the lock that is turned. If it will fit on the new locks then it should work. I have to find a more detailed description of the locks that are available.
