82 gs750 petcock rebuild q's

I put a new kit in and the little metal clip behind the spring and valve was bent to hell. Anybody have a picture of what it is supposed to look like?Maybe I can bend it back into shape. Does the spring go over one of the tangs?

The last owner had it all cobbled together and was running it with a hardware store on/off valve. The vent line runs to the carbs, right?

If the spring is fu%% up Just replace the petcock, get a used one on ebay. You will have a hard time getting it to work properly again. The vacuum line from the petcock goes to the #2 carb on the engine side

I allready spent the 20 bucks on the rebuild kit for mine. Also mine is a different design. It looks to be that they interchange between 77 and 82?
