----
Finished my valve clearance the other night (2am), and today, I put everything back together on my bike. I had taken apart my carbs over the winter as well.
To make things brief, I eventually got it started (after failed bump start attempts, and cranking it a lot,). gas started puddling, but that was because of a fuel line hose I had replaced. fixed that. changed oil again so no gas would be in crankcase (although the oil ended up being clean)
Got it running again. I notice now, that there is a LOT of clatter when its running. I pretty much had to max out the idle speed adjuster knob to keep it running, and also i had FORGOT to screw out 2 of the adjuster-screws on the carbs #-o now set them at about 1.5-2 turns out on each
Fix that, and then keep it running for a little (still really noisy).
As soon as I try and let go of the clutch into 1st gear, it stalls.

Now, I think it might be these things:
Valve clearance : although I got it right after, the readings changed on me after I took out shims and switched them up.
Carbs: Maybe something to do with carbs, but not sure? I have a synch device, but want to fix the clatter first.
++++EDIT++++I think clatter might be a result from rebuilding my cam chain tensioner.....gonna take it out, and double check it.....++++ still wont pop into 1st though....
PLEASE HELP!!! THE SUN IS SHINING NOW AND THERE IS NO SNOW!!!!! [-o<

Make sure you hand crank the motor through a couple of revolutions at least after resetting the timing and then check with the timing marks again to be sure you got it correct before putting the valve cover back on.
