Problem with Lights and Turn Signals on an 850

Help! Have a problem with my GS 850G. Bike runs fine but headlight and turn signals don't work. Not a fuse, because it's not blown. Any ideas? Thanks..Steve

The only help I can offer is to tell you to get a manual with a wiring diagram and trace the problem. My bike's turn signals had been 're-arranged' by the PO and I had find the wires and check continuity with a tester.

Since it's both lights and turn signals, I wonder if your combination switch is bad.

    Ace.

Another thing to consider...any time you get really strange symptoms...CHECK YOUR GROUND CONNECTIONS!

My friend is having the same problem with his 450. A dumb idea another friend of mine has is the ignition switch. You may be getting a connection to run the bike, but the terminal for the lights may be bad. We're still testing this theory out.

          Guys,
Thanks for the info. It turned out to be a bad ground connection. Cleaned it up and everything works fine.

Where was the bad ground at? This may be helpful on the 450.
