    Clutch?

ok so I'm cruising down the freeway.. about 70 mph in 5th.. and the engine revs up on it's own I back off the gas and then back on and things continue as if it's never happened.. this is the 3rd time in about 150 miles of riding..
So is it a time for a new clutch or is there perhaps some other potenial cause?

    Thanks

sounds like its slipping.... could just be as simple as adjusting it. I had some slippage years ago when I used Duralube...

    Got fresh oil?

If you need a new one it really is not that daunting a task to replace.

mine did the same thing the other month on the freeway and I just reached forward and adjusted the cable at the lever in full flight. Running with a too tight cluch adjustment must be hard on the throw out bearing as it would be engaged at all times not just when you use the clutch.

as to oil I just put in Castrol GTX from the autoparts store.

sounds like I need to double check the adjustment and hope that fixes it.
I havent touched that yet so.. maybe thats it..

          thanks for the input
