    Hesitation??

My GS1100 has a lot of hesitation when taking off. It will get to about 5k then get stuck there for a second or two, then takes off like a rocket. It has always done this when it wasnt warmed up, but now its all the time. Any ideas??

If the problem is worse with a cold engine, it is a lean condition. From the sound of it, you probably have a pilot circuit or two stopped up with old gas or junk from your tank. When you start it, do all the pipes get hot at the same rate?

I havent checked. Is the pilot circuit something i can fix myself? I am sort or mechanically inclined, i have changed the regulator and the stator, but never have messed with the carbs before.

Sounds like a good carb cleaning is in order.

Take a trip to another section of this site In the Garage.

Look for the information on carb cleaning, including photos, and follow the instructions.
