    82 GS450 L Air forks...

Hi all I am getting ready to rebuild my horribly leaking forks and noticed they are air forks. I can't find in my service manual the specs for the air presure required.

Can anyone tell me how much air pressure to put in?

    Thanks all!

The factory specification for the air forks on my 450GA is 7 psi.

The Haynes manual says max pressure is like 24 PSI. That's definitely way too much even for my big self!

Haynes Manual I have quotes 7.11 psi ...

It also states an absolute Max of 36 psi!

A comment they make is that you can play around with the pressure around the 7 psi level, with some commuter riders preferring zero.

Another comment is that it is very important to get the pressure equal between the two forks, even more than the actual pressure set, stating that it can be dangerous if the pressures are way apart.

          Hope this helps.

For info, Haynes also states to set the pressures with the bike on center stand, front wheel off of the ground .....
