i have a 1979 gs750l and my starter clutch is cracked. so it wont engage when you crank it over. the starter motor and flywheel spin but the crank doesn't. is it possible to swap the whole assembly out of my 83750e. or is the flywheel different. will anything work out of the 83 for the starter assembly.

you've got the parts I say do a fitment check.
I looked at at a few different spos and the part numbers seem to be different but that could be because they changed supplier over the years or something... -
Yea, what skreemer said. Did the bolts on the starter clutch back out of the starter clutch? I'm interested on why it cracked.Comment

no, everything thing was intact when i took it apart. the outer shell is split so it expands when it tries to engage and just slips.Comment
