will a 81 gs750e frame in the place of a 81 gs750l?

The 81 750E and the 81 750L use the same engine, so no problem there.
almost everything else though is different between the two models. Different tank and tank mount, different seat and seat mounts, different tail cone/tailight assembly, different fender, etc.

i have a 79 gs750l and dressed it up as an e model. i changed tank, seat, rear fender, etc. the frame was the same except i had to make a gas tank mount and modify the seat mounts. other than that, frame should be exactly the same for an 81Comment

So does anyone else know of any major or minor differences between the frames of 1981 gs750l and gs750e models? Like will the engines,swing arms, and triple trees easily interchange between the 2 different bikes?Comment
