Just deciding whether or not to split my crankcases.
The head is off and it's at the point where I almost can, but I'm not sure if I should.
The problem is that if I don't really push hard into sixth, it drops back to fifth under acceleration, and very occassionally, it will do this from fifth to fourth as well.
It's an '81 GS450 (see my www link for pic's and details).
Any suggestions? There's really not much else wrong that I'm aware of in this regard.
Also, I'm deciding whether to polish the engine or paint it black, main problem with polishing is the time to maintain the shine. I know it's not really a tech question, but thought I'd put it here with my real tech question :-)
Any thoughts greatly appreciated on both questions!
