    GS450E fuel gauge pipe

My 87 model GS450E has a rubber pipe under the fuel tank which is connected to the fuel gauge sender unit. Does anyone know what the other end is supposed to connect to ( if anything ) and what is it for ?

that is a safety drain for the sender, if the sender develops a leak it drains out via that hose to under the bike instead of right on top of the nice hot engine.
it should go down behind the engine.

Thanks for that. It's nice to know Suzuki have such faith in the quality of thier seals!:-D

It's not just Suzuki, My Kawasaki and Yamaha bikes have it, too. Have not checked the Honda, have not had it that far apart yet.

Yes, and the only reason for the horn is in case the brakes don't work.
