Jet size
Can anyone tell me what the stock size main jets are for a 82 Gs 850 with CV style carbs? I believe they are BS32SS carbs.ThanksTags: None -

Thank you,Do you have any suggestions of where to start if the bike has wide open exhaust and pod filters. How many sizes up would you begin at?Comment

Tough
I think that's a tough question. My bike is all stock and I think getting it just right after modifying air intake/output is usually pretty tricky. If you do a search, you may get some good clues or, if you're lucky, maybe someone with the same bike (or a very similar one) may be able to give you some good advice. Good luck!:-D1980 GS1100E....Number 15!

I have an 82 850L with an opened up air box and a V&H 4 into 1. I have 136.5 mains and Dynojet needles 1 clip position from the richest. Maybe try shimming if you have stock needles- about .04 to .06". Got stock pilots but could probly use 1 size richer.
Your pods may flow a little more than my airbox (if they are K&N).
This will give you a good starting point.
Good Luck!

I have went to a 125 jet size and the bike runs alot better. When i am riding and crack the throttle hard it spits and sputters, not bogging out but not running right,Should i try to adjust thefuel air mix or,go bigger on the jet size? This site is awsome and has saved me alot of headaches.Comment
