GS750E - Signal Question....Stupid (likely)

Hey guys:

- I have a 1980 GS750E with a little signaling trouble

Story:

Just noticed last night that my Right Rear Turn signal does not come on and the front right comes on but is solid on. I do not have the self canceling signals. The left side works fine no issues.

This maybe stupid but my Clymer book doesn't really have a troubleshooting section for this and I have searched around and I just wanted to get verified what I am thinking.

The rear signal if burned out / loose keeps the relay from flashing the other hence my right front light is on but solid. hence when I replace the stupid bulb it will be back to normal....

A simple yes or no willbe a great help... I know you all hate having yoru brains picked but I'm new here and I think I shoudl get one freebie dumb question :-D

It sounds to me like a burned out bulb...almost for sure!:-|

Change the bulb, but remember that while the front bulbs are dual filament bulbs (running lamp and turn signal) the rears are single filamnet only for turn signals.

I was interested to know where I might find the bulb number I know to replace ... I'll glace through my manual while I wait for a response too ... I may get lucky =)

take it out and look at side of the base. 1004 ect.

ok so I am likely fine just running to auto shop and finding the matching bulb if they have the number and I'll be ok... note to self: single filament in the rear

I was curious too...

are the signals in the front supposed to be on at all when the signals are not in operation?... I only ask because it'd make it easier to see my from front or rear if the lights were on full time and bright flashing instead of on only when I am set to turn...

Just a note.... my 80 750E has stock front signals, and they are not running lights, just single filament bulbs.

Yeah...I'm confused myself:? but my lights are now fixed...the wiring got shaken up and thats all it was =)

Not sure what the original bulb numbers are (were), but if the fronts are dual filament (including running lights), you can use 1157, 2057 or 2357. If the fronts are single filament (no running lights), use 1156. The rears, which are also single filament, use 1156.

The single filament type signals can be made into combination running lights and turn signals with the addition of two relays and some wiring mods. If you are interested, I'll describe how I did it.

Single filament bulb for blinkers is 1073.

I was going to try and build a circuit to accomplish this for rear running(amber illegal) lights, but a relay system sounds much easier.

I understand why you'd want additional lighting in the back but why would you would you want rear facing amber (illegal)?

Would this not add an additional 46 watts to the charging system (23 watts per bulb)?
