Fixing Small Hole In Muffler
I have a small (dime size) hole developing in the bottom of one of my mufflers. What is the best way to fix this hole? I have heard that JB Weld will do it but I have never tried it. Does anyone know the best method?

Cut a piece of steel as a patch and have it brazed on rather than have it electric welded on. This should solve the problem -

I've used JB Weld for about everything, but have not had satisfactory results using it on exhaust systems, especially motorcycles. Try what Dinks Wife said.Comment

Hole in exhaust
I had a much larger hole (3" x 4") repaired by a professional welding shop using a mig or tig welder. They did a nice clean job; no excess weld / slag dripping off anywhere. He charged $25 for the job.

There are also 'filler rods' that can braise fill this size hole...if you can find the right torch.Comment
