    Turn signal questions 78 gs550

Ok, I searched, but couldn't find a definitive answer on a couple questions. My bike had a windjammer farring which I promptly removed. I then bought some front turn signals and installed them. I can't seem to get them to work though. So here are my questions:

    1) What is the wiring for them?
    2) Do they turn on when I turn the headlights?
    3) What kind of bulbs do I need to get?

    Thanks. I love this forum!

Did the faring have running lights?

I'm not sure. I know that the turn signals worked though.

Did the new signals come with a ground wire with a washer on the end? Sounds like you missed the ground. Try grounding the signal where it goes through the frame. Use a single filament bulb. Do you have a voltage checker(looks light a flashlight bulb with a roach clip ground)? Check to see if you have the hot wire for the signal going into the bulb itself. Turn on the ignition and the turn signal switch to the side your checking and find the hot wire. There should be a cluster of female connectors that are black with a white stripe in your headlight bucket, connect your ground to this. While you're in there check all your connections.

Awesome. I did connect the grounds, but I remembered that the bolts were pretty rusty. Maybe that was blocking it. I'll clean them and try again.
