    1981 GS750 L Front Master Cylinder

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 1980 GS750 L from a friend. I have gone through the motor, rebuilt the carbs and rear brakes without any problems but the front brakes are killing me. I have taken apart the front master cylinder and cleaned all of the gunk out, but for some reason I cannot get fluid to enter the lines. The book that I have on the bike does not go into in detail on how to prime the master cylinder so any information on how to charge the system with fluid would be great.

You prob have some sort of blockage. You need to completely disassemble the MC and clean it all out.

After I thought I was completely thorough, a second cleaning found mud dauber larvae in it.

I also used what is called an "oriface drill" on the smallest little hole there. This drill is common in HVAC.

If you can't gravity bleed them, you probably have a blockage.

i was talking to a guy tonight who bleeds his brakes from the bottom up. He's got a giant syring, fills it with brake fluid, and pushes the fluid up through the caliper bleeder. That ought to at least get you going

Thanks everyone for helping me out with this problem....

I found that I had a blockage in one line and after clearing that out I used a vacum pump to reverse bleed the brakes, they work great now.
