They are sort of middle-ground tools. You don't mind beating on them because they're cheap, and they're replaceable at the nearest HD.



They are about 100 times better than harbor freight. Anything that comes from there should be considered disposable! And yes I do buy from HF sometimes...

I dunno about anyone else, but when it came time to get the phillips screws out of my intake boots, I didn't have the room inside the frame to use my hammer style impact. There was just no room to swing a hammer. I used a pneumatic jobbie instead and was finished in 30 seconds.

Exactly my experience. And a DeVilbiss 1/2" pneumatic impact wrench in decent condition from Ebay only cost $14.96 delivered to my door. The seller even threw in safety glasses!
