Does anyone know for absolutely positively sure whether the tank, front fender, side covers and tail section from a 82 GS850G will fit on a 82 GS1100G.

I know for absolutely positively sure that the tank, front fender, side covers, and tail section from an 82 GS850GZ will fit on an 82 GS1100GZ. "Z" is for the 82 model year. I owned two GS850GZ's, and sold the tank off one of them to a fellow with an 1100GZ.

These parts will also interchange with the 82 GS1100GKZ, the touring model, except for the fender.

Make sure both are standard models and not "L" models.

You're welcome, chiphead. If you put a black GS850GZ next to a black GS1100GZ and swap sidecover model plates, very few people will be able to tell the difference. These two bikes have quite a few body parts in common.
