Get a handle bar switch. (run/stop start button) You need this to complete the circuit to get power to the coils. Unless of course you did some McGyver type rigging

where might i get my hands on one of those.....

by the way, i got the bike from some guys basement. No clue whats been done to the wiring.

Any tips on how to wire the circuit closed?

Are there points on this bike?

What other things should i check on

      Thank you

The only sure way to wire the circuit closed is to follow the circuit and use a multimeter. A wiring diagram would be helpful, but is not strictly necessary.
You need to verify that power is actually reaching the various ignition components - ignitor, coil, pulse generator.

There aren't points on your bike. This handle bar switch might work for you.

Check on getting a manual. Not trying to be nasty, but you're going to need one if for nothing else the wiring diagram and the parts diagrams.

              Concentrate on the ignition

Pull all the fuses other than the ignition and sort that out first. The fact that everything else works is a good omen.

There really isn't anything complicated about these things. You can even get the whole original wiring harness off ebay. Check Bike bandit to see how many bikes used the same wiring harness to cut yourself some options in a worst case scenario.

Determine whether it's fuel or spark first. The basement thing sounds like your first order of business will be gummy fuel system. Pull a spark plug and crank touching the plug to the engine. If you get spark you are 1/2 way home.
