    Gs___l?

I'm sure there is an easy explanation to this, but does anyone know what the letters GS are referring to and more specifically in my case, what does the L denote. I've noticed in everything I've read about this bike (GS650L), seems to have it as the "exception" to the rule. By this I mean, when reading the repair manuals, everything says "except L". Then, the seperate spec for the L is given...usually higher air pressure, fluid volume, and torque specs. What gives?

L designates it as a cruiser as opposed to sport. On the home page go to the link that say Model Information and it will explain the letter designations

L=low. Lower seat, higher bars, softer suspension etc. And probably lower gearing too.

            "Gran Sport".
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

yeah, with the L model , youll find a different seat, different handlebars, different forks, and a gastank. also gearing may be different. most other stuff should be pretty close..

Dave the "GS" is Gran Sport and the 650 "G" is the engine model and the L is a cruiser and the D is the month it was produced.
