Can you help ID my Ignition parts

Basically because U'm too cheap and lazy I haven't yet bought a manual, and I've become a little confused by reading threads here about ignitions, etc.
I have a 79 GS 1000 (EN?)... Does it have an "igniter".
It has points, and condenser, centrifigul advance, but not knowing my ignition systems from my elbow I don't know what else it should have. Does it have a CDI? Is that the little black box attached to the right side of my battery box?
If someone could spell out all of the system components in the order in which they are set-up, I'd have a better chance of troubleshooting.
And or if anyone has a copy of the elec schematic laying around.. I know it's a lot too ask - (just get off yer duff and get the serv manual dude!).. Well, until then... any help is greatly appreciated.

Justin, If still stock 79 with "points" contact breaker points like you pictured.... those are wired directly to the coils. Coils are mounted above the engine under the tank on the frame. I dont know if the wires from the points go thru the connector that you showed or not.

As stated before, no, you dont have an "ignitor". 1980 models and after with electronic signal generators (instead of mechanincal points) have "ignitors" which is an electronic module wired inbetween the signal generator and the coils.

In your first pic, the black box and both the wire connections circled are for your self-cancelling turn signals.
