    1982 katana carbs

I am restoring a 1982 1000cc katana and the carbs are junk. I have a set of 34 flatslides from a different bike that fit. How do I set these carbs up to so they will work on the katana? What jet sizes should i go with? Someone told me that the UK version of this buke came with flatslides so I'm hoping they can work. Thanks for the help!

Everywhere except the US got smoothbore carbs on the Katana 1000.
So the settings on them are irrelevant to your setup.
What are the 34mm flatslides off??
If it is a newer 750,fit them up and try to start the bike, then you get to learn the "art" of the plug chop.
More later gotta go to work.

      Flat Slides

I bolted them up and it started and idled fine, but revs up slow. What is the ART OF THE PLUG CHOP?

Probably the best advice I can give is to use the info on this page http://www.factorypro.com/tech/carbtun.html

If these are RS flatslides you should be using a push pull cable and not the stock pull only cable because the throttle can stick open and ruin your whole day. If they are off a GSXR I am not sure about the cable requirement.
