    Gasket Replacements

Hi to all and thanks for all the prior advice.
I am in the middle of a rebuild on an 82 gs1100gl. I like to know what you guys would recommend to put on gaskets before installing if anything. I've had a tough time cleaning off all the old gasket residue trying my best to not gouge the surfaces. I'm thinking gasket adhesive, a light coat of oil??? Specific gaskets are : oil pan, head gasket, cam cover, stator cover, starter cover....
    Thanks.

Clean the mating metal surfaces of all oil, old gasket material, old sealers, etc. and then put the new gasket on DRY.
