    1982 gs 650gl valve adjust DYI

    i have a gs 650gl with 75,000 miles on it :shock: --i'm in the process of waking it up this spring , i don't have a manual yet --but i have almost all maintenance reciepts, up until 70,000 anyway i'm doing the carbs, i replaced the tank, new petcock --anyway i want to check the valves this weekend -- any info on how to check them ?? i'm new to these 4 strokes

    Get yourself a good set of feeler gauges and the book and go to town. Take all your measurements first and with a little luck, you can use a shim or two over, on another valve.

      i will be borrowing a set of feelers , but i won't have a manual by this weekend --and i have the time --so if anyone can give me ibstructions on how its done //maybe i can go for a ride ---thanks
