    Speedo Needle Jumping

    Hello All,

First Post for me. I have an '82 GS850, which is just about perfect, except for one thing.

At around 55 MPH and again at 65 MPH, the speedo needle starts jumping back and forth.

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

    More annoying that anything.

    Thanks.

Welcome to the fourm. You might try lubing the cable and/or speedo mechanism.

Yep. I had that. I undid the cable from the speedo and sprayed in some lube, then did the cable. Problem fixed. Later I had to do the same to the tach.

Welcome to the GSR. Good advice offered already, I had to Replace the Speedo Cable on my 850 Last Year and they do need to be Lubed once in a While. Where are You in Tennessee?

              Use chain wax.
