What is this hole in my motor leaking oil?

1979 gs750, just got it running again, leaking oil from a hole under left sprocket cover. What is this hole? It never leaked before. Was there a plug in there or something?

I think it's actually a drain hole from the flat part of the motor above the transmission, below the carbs. If your chain tensioner is leaking, this is where it goes. I think.

yeah, probably, I hooked up an oil cooler and it was leaking from the oil pressure switch(bad o-ring) onto the flat part under the carbs. Thanks.

I figured it out, its a drain from the starter. I got scared when I saw oil leaking.
