    Testing Cylinder Compression

Will it hurt anything to test the cylinder compression on an engine with the carbs removed (and only the intake boots are on there)?

I don't see why it would, you should theoretically get more accurate results as you don't have anything impeding the air flow... Just be careful to not cross thread the gauge and to ground the spark plugs. A side note, if you are going to complete a wet compression test measure the amount of oil you are adding so you can add a simillar amount to each cylinder.

Compression testing with the carbs removed is the ideal scenario.
