'78 suzuki GS1000C rear tire size

The stock size is 4.00 X 18. Slightly larger than a moped tire. I'm considering trying a 120/90x18 or a Dunlop 4.25/85H-18. I don't want to create problems with too wide a tire on the 2.15 rim, or interference with the brake caliper brace or the chain (630). Does anybody have any experience with a slightly wider rear tire?

You are fine with a 4.25 or 120. It's only slightly larger than stock and with in reason for a 2.15 rim.

I've been running 120/90H18's on the rear of my 79 GS1000 for years with no operational problems. The first tire I had years back was a 110/90H18 and just mounted one of this size up for this year just to see if it feels any different.
