Neither could I, Say where is the best place to get a complete gasket set. Would really like the layered head gasket.

Suzuki service data manual states 157.80mm (6.213in) between 20 pins as a service limit.

Would that be center to center on the pins? inside or outside of the rollers?

You can usually find gasket sets at Bike Bandit (slow) or z1enterprises (quick, and you can talk to a knowledgeable person).Comment

Say Cheif
Well ordered the full engine gasket set, new chain and link today and will order the new guides this afternoon.
Cheif what is involved in replaceing a cylinder sleve? My # 1 cylinder has a few brown spots in it that I don't muchg care for.
Most wear in the cylinders is in the front and back. All cylinders still show original factory hone marks.
Carbon on top of pistons and cylinder heads, flakeing off on #s 1&4 piston tops, carbon that is.
The base gasket took 3.5 hrs. to remove.

Gustovh have you found a reason for the noise yet? Earlier you were going to inspect the clutch area now posts would indicate that you have pulled most of the motor apart.
Your replacing parts but has anything given the indication of being worn out or in trouble to have caused that noise? You are talking about the chain slider with groves in and now this sleeve....would that have caused the noise.......is your desire to change it going to give you more problems as you go?
Would be such an anoyance to do all this work and then find that she's still whining after a rebuild.

I have a full engine gasket set coming. The rear cam chain guide/adjuster is worn and floppy, so I will be replacing it and the front guide, and cam chain. I am not going to worry about the cylinder, I do not see how that could cause such a racket.
I restarted the engine before I pulled the jugs and used a automotive stethoscope, steel rod, screwdriver, and finally a doctors stethoscope to try and track the noise again. I have bad hearing but seemed to me I could hear it all over the lower end of the engine/transmission.
I just finished cleaning the jugs, head and valve cover and will take the head to work next week and check it for warping.
Will pull what is left of the motor, and inspect everything else. I need to move things around to have the room to work.

Not quite stock, there, Haaay Chief. Looks good and I bet rides goooood also.
I now have all the parts required to reassemble the engine, replace the Cam chain, front guide, chain tenshioner (rear guide).
Inspected clutch and bearing, Nada. Crank bearings, nada, Starter, cams, seats etc. Nothing reared it's head.
Will start assembly in the next day or two.
