In order to go DOT4 you have to purge DOT3, I would not mix the two. Your not going to notice a difference with DOT4 anyway.

UM..I just got the bike and have no idea what he used for brake fluid. Do I need to do some special procedure to flush out the system before putting DOT 3 in?
