That's correct. The difficulty is (on mine) it hadn't been loosened since the factory installed it 25 years ago. My manual spec'd the torque at 115 lbs (I think). That's TIGHT!

Just wondering what kind of mileage you're getting out of the 82 GS1100?

mine gets around 45 mpg (82gs1100l)
