630/530 conversion

I am not sure about a 650, or the early 750 but for a '80 GS1100E that is how you do it. I'm 95% sure that is also correct for the 4 valve 750.

So, to convert a GS1000 from 630 to 530 all I'd need would be a bandit 12 front and rear sprocket, chain and 6mm washer? The sprockets bolt straight on? What are the benefits in this, is it smoother and quieter? Less strain on the g/box?

They are lighter and roll easier, so they waste less hp. Racebikes are using 520 setups.
