    Stupid Question needing correct anwser.

    How much oil does a gs1000 take with filter change and without filter change. amount in liters please, (tag missing on case) have just taken out 4.5 liters without filter.

    The book I have shows 3.4L without filter, 3.8L with filter and 4.2L after overhaul.

      A little over 4 quarts with filter. I usually get it to the high point on the site glass. After it starts and fills the filter it's about right.

        Cheers for that. am having to remove cover to clean sight glass so drain oil and it seemed to be too much. the old girls tired (smokey) but when i drain the oil there was a glimer of light that i may not have to do the rings just yet. alas,
