E model with an aftermarkent seat, I'd say. Notice the step is only in the padding not the seat frame (pan). Forks are definitely E. No L ever had the tail section body work. Side covers are missing. But this one isn't much of a mystery it's an E.

      E for sure.

Not worth messing with unless you can get it for sub $500 - my opinion of course. Figure on replacing: tires, chain, battery, filters/fluids, handlebars and rebuilding the carbs and brake system.

Another giveaway on E vs L is the tank. Es are wider at the seat and the Ls taper more. From what I understand the VIN could say E and it still be an L, but not the case with this one anyway.

Oh boy, an other quessing game. Where is Leon?

Yah, I see, the chrome front fender and stepped seat might lead you to think its an L.

But, Like Jim stated, it doesnt look like the stock L seat. Other thing that indicate not an L is the plastic tail piece with tail light and plastic rear fender. An L would have chrome rear fender with the tailight unit mounted down on back end of the fender. So I say "not an L"

Some may say that its not and L becuse its a chain drive. But there were some Ls that were chain, And 550 was one that were L chain drive.

Say, Just, if you are going to get that... I have a Windjammer IV windshield that has been sitting in my utility room for years. Is a bit used/skuffed up, but is usaeable till you find a better one. PM me if intersted.

Ah, look at picture of the handle bars, cant really call them handle bars, more like just a piece of pipe or conduit.
          Hey, I also have a stock 850G handle bar right next to that windshield, so . . . . . .

          .

Nah, that's not a Kwacker seat. It's either a Saddleman foam and replacement cover added to the original pan or the entire Sadleman seat assembly. They were available from JC Whitney, listed in their catalogue as a 'sport seat'. As you can see, little on the puffy side, but looks a hell of a lot better than Duct Tape!
