Fuel Question

So, do you guys recommend I use high octane fuel in my 81 GS 1100?

Run the 87 octane...higher octane will do you no good unless you notice a "ping" under load.

My GK has 120,000 miles on it, and it runs great on 87 octane. Brand doesn't matter -- it just burns it all the same. I usually get mine at Sheetz or non-brand-name stations.

I owned four GS850G's before the GK, and also bought nothing but 87 octane; they all ran fine.

If your engine is stock, it should run on 87 octane. Some people will tell you that you'll get better gas mileage on higher octane. BS.

Save your money.
