    battery

    just bought 83 gs550 ld was sitting about a year will i got her to run last night but now i want to now if i could use walmart battery or do i have to use oem battery this is my first bike so i'm a little confused.just bought walmart battery a little small with wise is that ok

    Hello I say get a good battery the ones from walmart never worked well for me ie: didn't last very long slow cranking and so forth try something like yuasa or similar

      Generic batteries, like from Walmart, are okay but don't seem as durable as a Yuasa OE battery. When you consider the price it's no big deal though.

        The Cheaper replacement batteries are typically good for about a good year's worth of riding. You just have to weigh the cost of a Yuasa against replacing the cheaper one a couple of times.
