    vm 33 float removal

Anyone know how to remove the pins that are holding the floats on on 33 smooth bores?

I use a drift punch & a SMALL ball pein hammer to tap them out. Tap LIGHTLY to get them loose so you don't break the pin posts. If you break the post you are semi-screwed! Ray.

I don't like to use a punch since the post may break off. If possible, use a small screwdriver and lay the blade along the edge of the post and try to catch the edge of the float pin head. If you can catch the edge you can twist the screwdriver to pry the pin loose. Much less risk of busting the post.
