    1981 GS1100-- Master Cylinder LEAK!

Can anyone help with advice on a constantly leaky master cylinder? When bike is just sitting-- it leaks (on side side or on center stand).

What is the hole (in the center) designed for? How do I STOP this leak?

    Thanks,
    Mark...

Time for a rebuild. Easy job assuming the cylinder bore is still in good shape. Hardest thing is getting in at the recessed circlip (you will need special plyers to get in there). Not sure about the hole but it looks like a drain for fluid that is getting past the outer cup.

I bought a new rear OEM unit for my honda at a hefty expense, but brakes are not something you want to second guess.

After I installed it, wow... worth the money.
