    Jet kit sets

I know many of you have done this and I couldn't find it in my search here.
Am thinking of changing my exhaust system to a V & H 4 in 1 on my 82 GS1100EZ. What jet kit should I use?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Dynojet
    Part number 3133.
Without pods you will install the stage 1. I'd get a set of K&N pods and go with the stage 3. You won't regret it.
1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
    1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

It rains heavily here in Malaysia, so would pods be a problem? and what difference btwn stage 1 and 3?

I've never had any problem with water getting into the pods and kiling the engine. Stage 3 is richer to make up for the pods allowing more air into the mixture.

I just bought a K\N jet kit off of e-bay for a 1000G. I think this is an old left over kit from yesteryear that had never been put into service, but maybe they still make them, you would have to call them and see. It's a stage 1 and stage 3 kit and has very good instructions on how to dial in the jetting. It's designed to run specificly with the k\n filters. I put a similar kit in a 1000G back in the late eighty's, and was impressed with the performance gain, but will warn you that my mileage dropped from high forty's to mid thirty's. You play, you pay!!

I would suggest you stick with the stock airbox. Unless gas is cheap there
and the roads are well cared for that extra horsepower is not going to
be worth it. I have never been to your country but if it is like the Philipines I would be afraid to have those expensive Pod filters hanging
off my bike in the city. I have a old V and H system on my 1100 and
to my ears its the best sound there is. If and when I go to pods I plan
on getting rid of the CV carbs also to simplify things. A little rain may not
make much difference to Pods but most Americans don't know what
a rainy season in asia is like.

I've been through some real turd floaters with pods and never had a problem.

I ran pods in NE Ohio without any problems. That's where the saying is "if you don't like the weather wait five minutes".

Thanks for the input guys. Knowing Malaysian downpours, I take 80-81, GS 1100's advise and stick with the stock air-box and oem k/n air-filters.
