    analog carb sync gages question

Does anyone have a suggestion on what the vacuum reading should be on analog guages? What should I set the fist carb at in order to start the sync of the other gages. I have some Taiwan gauges that has color coding info for automobiles but has no indicators, besides vacuum measurements, for motorcycles.

    I have a 1979 gs1000E with vm carbs.

Appreciate any feedback I can get thanks.

Numbers do NOT matter. What matters is that all cylinders are equal. 8-[

Before you sync the carbs, make sure the valves are adjusted and the ignition timing is set.

When you connect the gauges, look for the one that is reading the lowest and bring that up to the others. With your VM carbs, there is no particular order for which carb to do first, so just adjust the one with the lowest reading first.

After each adjustment, blip the throttle to make sure the adjustment stays set. After you tighten the locknut, check it again.

ps. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. :-\"
