You pod haters make me laugh! I made the switch over to pods and have never been happier. Yes it does take time to get it right, but when you do it is the greatest thing. The sound alone from the incoming air is unreal, then the extra Hp isn't bad either.

Sure someone actually wants to know now I have to think.
Main jets: 130 dynajets(were 117.5)I think
Pilot jets: Drilled one size larger(using a small drill index)Over stock)
Air jets: 150 dynajets(were 170)
Fuel Adjust screws at 1.5 turns
Slides drilled to 5/64(or 7/64 cant remember)whatever dynajet recommends)
Needles set second notch from the top
This is on a 1981 GS750L with pods and a stock exhaust, I had the needles in the 3 notch and it was running rich in the 1/3rd throttle range so I moved the needles to the 2nd notch and it runs great! Plug chops turn back the same great results!
If my terminology is incorrect please correct me(I'm still new at this but I can tune a carb!

thats some good info to have...should post that in the carb stickys in the tech forum for anyone later on!! Im currently fighting with my 77GS750B with pods and VH 4into1...its tickin me off but im figuring it out slowly...got some 127.5 jets on the way, and some intake orings..i have a leak on one boot...crappy idle and need to synch...hope these jets are going to be rich enough...

Not available...just orderd new jets. just check tracking will be here thursday...went with 127.5s...Two questions for you tho maybe you can answer....ONE where can i find a new baffle for my VH? It's the jet needle that is the important component in the DJ kit. I think you can get the baffle from somewhere like denniskirk.com Or maybe call V&H directly and see if they will sell you one. As for the pods.... shop around. I bought mine from denniskirk, but I have since seen them cheaper on ebay. Go with the K&N's. And if you do get K&N's, don't bother setting up your carbs until you get them.... if you dial in your carbs now for the emgos, you'll be dialing them in again for the K&N's because they move more air than the emgos.

My needle is adjustable via the clip...VMs not CVs..and an oddball VM26 on top of that...didnt have spacers, needle sits directly in the slide and fits inside of the slide arm...thought i was missing parts when i first cracked them open...but after some research alas i am ok. My stock needle was adjustable, too, and so is the needle in the DJ kit. It's the taper on the DJ needle that is different and seems to make the difference when going with pods and pipe. Many have tried to dial in their stock carbs using the stock parts and have ended up pulling their hair out. I'm not saying it can't be done, but there will probably be alot of trial and error. Already there...lol he advised me on the bigger jets, and to move my clip on the stock needle to 4 from the top instead of the stock possition. Ive found an intake leak on my number one boot, and the jets and rings are on their way...we'll find out soon enough i guess...You have VMs on that 1000?? i didnt pay attn...if so what size/model K&N did you order? Just for reference, my stock needles were adjustable on my 82 GS1100E. It is a Canadian model and we got adjustable needles up to about 83 or so. If you are looking to get adjustable needles and don't want the Dynojet ones (some swear at the sharper taper of the DJ needles on the CV carbs), order needles from a Canadian Suzuki dealer and you should get the good ones...Originally posted by renobruce View PostMy stock needle was adjustable, too, and so is the needle in the DJ kit.
I had no issues dialing in my 1100 with a Kerker 4-1 and Emgo pods. It took a few tries, as it usually does, but it wasn't a fight. This winter I am going to try making my own megaphone tail pipe/muffler to fit the Kerker header and will be installing APE pods as an upgrade to the Emgo's, so I will be doing the carb tuning dance next spring again.
