Get one..and dont do anything to those screws till you do...or you'll regret it...and get a new hex head bolt set while your at it...both can be had cheaply...harbor freight for the impact driver...Z1enterprises for your bolts. -

What he said!
So far I have had to use the impact driver on just about every screw and damn bolt on my bike and have only had one that did not budge.
Good luckComment

Something like that. I have no idea of the qualilty or if the price is high or low.
What I would say is buy the best one you can afford (you will be hitting it with a hammer!)
I have a Koken driver. Bought it when I started my trade training (20 years ago) and it is still working perfectlyComment

Agreed - the function of impact drivers is just short of magic. I waited on my last ignition cover screw to borrow a friends. Didn't know they were so inexpensive though - thanks for the links!Comment

I suggest going down to Sears and buying one there. The Harbor Freight impact would most likely work...for a while, but frankly I'm suspicious about how long it will hold up.Ed

Don't get this one. You can do much better. Don't ask how I know but there's one in my garage.this what I want? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=93481Comment

Get one that's absolutely heavy as fvck. You're gonna be pounding it with a hammer. I don't think you want it to break in your hand. Plus the heavier it is the more force it'll makeComment

I second this. Every time I use my HF impact driver, I tell myself I'm going to buy a better one. I've told myself this at least 10 times...you'd think I'd get it by now. Get something better.Comment

I bought mine from harbor freight too, cos it was close and they are cheap...and they are cheap...i broke one of the heads for it...the driver itself is ok but the tips are subpar...go with better one.Comment

One of my tips broke too. Of course its the philips head...the one you really need. I recommend packing some heavy grease in the body of the driver...that keeps it working fairly well.Last edited by Guest; 11-16-2007, 10:17 AM.Comment

I have ruined a cheap impact driver myself; find a stronger, heavy one. I purchased a CIC brand driver from ebay with 7 bits for less than $20, very solid and works great. The craftsman looks a little stronger but its length may be a concern in some situations.
After a quick ebay search came up with several that are similar to the one I own. This is pretty close but have no idea of quality.
Looks to be plenty of mac and snap on ones. I suggest trying to get bits with purchase.Comment
