Did they come stock with a front brakelight switch or was it only the rear?? My bike didnt have one on it when i bought it, and i cant find anything in the manual to say whether or not it did. If not, how difficult would it be to rig one up?? I dont use my rear brake much, aside from quick braking and a bit of trail braking, so i'd feel alot safer with one...lol

They came stock with a front brake light switch. On the bottom of the handlebar switch assembly, you should find (if the brakelight switch assembly was removed), a slot and two screw holes that the assembly fits into. Last I checked, they were still available from Suzuki for less than $10. All it is, is a small plastic cap with two holes for mount screws and a tiny brass "U" with a tiny spring that slides in the plastic channel when the brake lever is pulled.

If your handlebar switch is stock, you will have the casting on the bottom of the assembly that accepts the brake light switch. If you order one and are installing it, it is much easier to install if you loosen the clamp screws that hold the complete switch assembly to the handlebars and rotate the switch 180 deg so you are working from the top and the pieces naturally fall into place rather that trying to work from underneath and having everything wanting to fall out. LOL I found that out the hard way. hehe

Actually i scavenged the right hand switch off an 80 750 i have. The original switch was completely stripped and was there for the throttle sleeve and that was about it. I wish it was still good tho, as it was metal and the 80's is plastic. Oh well. So if i get a brake switch, i think i should probably get the 80's switch since i know it will fit in the assembly. I actually looked to see if i could gut the plastic switch and put it in the metal housing, but alas the parts were a lil bigger than the old. I also had to use the throttle cable off the 80 as the connections were different. Bummer. Still GS at least.Comment
