That is looking good, I have a 1978 GS1000 as well and will be starting my project this spring. It will include a frame up restoration and a complete engine rebuild. I will post pictures as I progress.

Just with the bars, the rest will be pretty much stock. I'll probably loose the cross bar pad.

but I agree... remove the h-bar pad... as it makes it look like they're off a BMX bicycle!
